New Red Dwarf, on Dave

It’s not everyday you get a planetary alignment that sticks together a bunch of the things that I like. So, take these not all that disparate sources, stick them together and have a guess what you get:
- Red Dwarf
- The ‘Selected by Dave, for Billy’ digital TV channel Dave
Well, that would be Robert Llewelyn, rocker of rubber in Red Dwarf and naturally rubber faced presenter of Scrapheap Challenge (the program that would make Dave perfect if added to their schedule), aka @bobbyllew on twitter, mentioning that he thought everyone knew the big Red Dwarf news, causing murmurings of ‘What he say?’ across the wide twitterverse. In true twittery low attention span fashion we did not have to wait long before he greeted us with this message:
There was much squeeing, in the predictable manner, and I ran off to try and find a nice news article on the interwubs so that I could join in the ReTweet mayem. I found my news story, sitting cheerily over at RedDwarf.co.uk, but there was one small issue that disturbed me – it was dated September 19th 2008 and there have been updates since. So, it seems that I (and everyone else that I have read on the internets) have somehow managed to miss this. For shame. Cue cries of ‘I saw it, don’t you even read my blog any more?’ It’s my fault, I’m sure. I’m sorry.
Anyways, in short, Dave are doing four one-off Red Dwarf specials with talk of two episodes being filmed in front of an audience – I’ll be keeping an eye on Mr Llewellyn’s twitter stream to see when the tickets are released, as I suspect there will be a mild scrum…
