New Pad
Well, I’ve moved house. I am now the happy tenant of former flatmate, and recent emigre to the south coast, Dave and I am sitting on the left cushion of lower sofa in the picture above tapping out these words while I survey the wonders of Park Royal from my 6th floor eyrie.
I’ve bought myself a bed (I’m all grown up me), filled the second bedroom with boxes and have a devastation zone where the kitchen should be, with boxes and bags spilling out of date spice vials across the floor and towards the hallway. I also have about 3 feet of broken down boxes if anyone wants them.
So, I’m now about as far north as I’ve ever lived (apart from Northampton, but I was barely born back then, so I don’t think it counts) and have a whole new bit of London to explore. Even if most of it is an industrial estate that’s hidden behind the rather nice park and waterfall that I can see from the balcony. I’ve got a waterfall, do you? Probably not. I think this means I win. With open windows I can hear the white noise of flowing water covering the wooshy cars of the A40 and the occasional burst of motorbike engine as someone else burns away from the Ace Cafe, which is hidden just down the road.
I think I quite like it here.
