Of course that’s not how he really did it. He didn’t get people to come up with random choices and then average them out to select the numbers of the balls – that’s completely nonsensical and if proven to be true would show significantly more [...]

Continuing my thinking too much about Derren Brown’s Lottery Numbers trick, I noticed an interesting comment somewhere on my internet trawls yesterday. It basically said:
“He said it’s all about misdirection, how do we know that the lottery numbers trick is the thing that we’re meant to be looking at?”
Bah, now I have to watch the [...]

So, Derren Brown predicted the lottery numbers last night. Well done, sir, it was a marvellous looking trick. I reckon now, after some discussion with likeminded pullers apart of tricks, that I know how he may have done it, and if so it’s interesting technically but overall a bit boring.
